http://liebermanmustgo.com/ Petition, sign now!

We CANNOT tolerate a leader of the Senate Democratic Caucus who supports George Bush and McCain's War in Iraq. We CANNOT tolerate a Democratic chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee who endorses and stumps for McCain. We call on the Senate Democratic Steering Committee to strip Joe Lieberman of his chairmanship and his leadership role.

Well, they can't strip him of his chairmanship. (none / 0)

Or committee assignments.

Those are part of the organizing resolution, and they just don't have the votes to pass a new one

Re: http:// (none / 0)

Um, can we maybe wait until he doesn't represent the sum total of our majority?  For serious folks, January's not that far off.  Making him that made will only get him to bolt to the Republicans, then we're truly fucked.

Re: http:// (none / 0)

Why do you fear him, he already left our party.

That is the point.

Re: http:// (none / 0)

I'm of two minds on this, on the one hand I agree with you. On the other hand what more can Joe do that he hasn't already done? I figure the only reason he's doing this is he knows his days in the Senate are numbered. Baring Democrats picking up exactly 9 seats (meaning they hit exactly 60) Joe's done for in the caucus come the start of the next congress. His chances of getting re-elected in 2012 are slipping further and further so he's tieing his horse to McCain figuring he would be so grateful should he win that Joe gets put in the cabinet somewhere.

"The same spineless dopes who supported Joe Lieberman are now supporting Barack"

"I don't have anything against Joe's opponent. He seems like a perfectly fine man. But I know that on the issues that I believe are critical to our future, Joe Lieberman's past is good evidence of his future...He is a good man, a good Democrat, and he'll do you proud."
President Bill Clinton, July 2006, campaigning for Senator Joe Lieberman

Our primary was held in Aug.  Hillary supported Ned.  Barack supported Joe.
